Senior Management Team

From the initial Personal Service Needs Assessment to the creation of your Customized Management Program, one of our senior account managers will always be there for you. They will personally coordinate and supervise any work performed and guarantee your complete satisfaction with our professional service.
David Hicks – President
David has over 32 years of experience as the owner and operator of a design/build general construction business and as a real estate developer. Having designed, engineered and built a passive solar home in 1980 and as a member of the Green Building Society in 1984 he is always on the leading edge of the industry. This blend of design/engineering acumen and skilled building craftsmanship gives David a unique perspective when looking for answers to challenging construction questions and problems. From creative storage cabinetry ideas to complex engineering concepts, there is always a solution and he will find it.
With David’s uncompromising insistence on Quality, Integrity and Service as the keys to business success, our full spectrum of building and construction services will always be personally supervised and managed “from concept to completion”.
Yvonne Gallegos – Vice President
Yvonne is our primary account manager and personal assistance expert. As a licensed real estate agent, experienced home remodeler, and owner of a personal concierge business, Yvonne knows your homes service needs from top to bottom and inside out. She will most often conduct the initial Personal Service Needs Assessment and then work with the rest of our senior management team to create your CUSTOMIZED MANAGEMENT PROGRAM. Every home and property is different and every clients needs are unique. Tailoring our vast array of services to your specific priorities and budget is Yvonne’s primary objective.
One of our most popular services and Yvonne’s personal expertise is de-cluttering and organizing any space in your home or work environment. With her creative storage solutions, careful sorting and logical organization systems implemented people are always amazed at how much extra space was hiding in plain sight. We will even find good homes for the items you no longer need or want and properly dispose of old toxic or hazardous household products.
Michael Smith – Chief of Operations
Michael has over 20 years of experience as a successful business owner and manager in several diverse industries. In the 1990’s he co-founded a software company that developed custom solutions to complex problems for public/private partnerships with State governmental agencies. After selling his ownership in 2000, Michael turned his efforts to the hospitality industry and became the General Manager for two multimillion dollar mountain resort properties in the Colorado Rockies and the California Sierra Nevada mountains. Michael and David worked together on the 10 million dollar redevelopment of the Sierra Nevada resort property. Most recently Michael has managed a 15 million dollar produce business and is working to develop a local non-profit education program providing training and career development in the construction industries for at risk and underserved youth in Colorado. Here at UTOPIA, Michael is our Chief of Operations and responsible for developing and directing our service delivery and business systems.
In addition to Michael’s extensive business experience he is very passionate about finding applications for “green” technologies. With certifications in both Residential Energy Efficiency and Solar Energy Solutions, he is our in house alternative energy expert. By performing a Home Energy Audit we are able to recommend the modifications or improvements required to reduce your overall energy use and cost. Michael is part of our Customized Management Program development team that is always working with our UTOPIA staff and clients to develop the solutions that meet your needs and save you money.
